Race Against Extinction and Lory Park once again teamed up to spread awareness on the need for Tiger Conservation.
Together with this we promote the Conservation of all Endangered Species; in particular we strive to expose the horrors of the black market and wildlife trade around the world.
Awareness was raised on the dwindling numbers of Tigers and the need for captive breeding to keep their numbers up.
Many people asked – “Where is the mother?” She is at Lory Park Sanctuary, very happy and healthy.
Captive-bred Tigers often reject their young even if there is nothing necessarily wrong with them. It is an unfortunate consequence of what we’ve done to the planet that the babies need to be taken from mom at an early age in order to make sure they survive. One day hopefully there will be enough Tigers so that people do not have to interfere to make sure they live.
People were very surprised to find out that:
These 3 Siberian babies makes up more than 0.1% of what is left of the earth’s population of Siberian Tiger (captive and wild).
It is a strange thing that these 3 babies are completely oblivious to the poaching of Tigers around the world. They happily cuddle and bite each other’s ears. |
